Tip of the Day

Here are some tips i've been writing over the past 2 months. I still have lots of content to upload since beginning of my journey. Stay tuned!!

iOS currently has some dodgy support for RAW photos. RAW photos contain the every bit of information that is generated by the photo sensor inside your camera. This gives photographers and weekend warriors alike much more flexibility to tweak their photos to their liking!

As it stands right now, RAW files can be viewed but can't really be used by apps like Instagram, Facebook and the like.

The solution? Adobe Lightroom for iOS

The photos can be saved to the camera roll as a JPG which can then be used to upload to social media. You don't even need an account to use this functionality. (Hell yes) Here are some quick steps to get files converted right on your iPhone or iPad:

  1. Import those files from the camera roll. Make sure you're working with raw files (Shows "raw" across the image if it is a .erw file)
  2. Then select the menu in the top right corner and select "Save to camera roll"
  3. Select each photo and then click the check mark button in the top right corner.
  4. Select the maximum possible resolution. The program will then convert the files on the fly and place them in your camera roll.

That's it! You can now use the files with apps like Instagram, Facebook or even post process edit with Canva.
