Syncing from a camera to the iPad is surprisingly easy as long as you have the right tools..
The process requires a camera adapter which either is a lighting-to-usb or lighting-to-sd card adapter. When the adapter is plugged in and the camera is on Photos should automatically open. You should have an option to review and import photos.
Import on my DSC RX100 was originally impossibly slow. It took a few minutes just for the first preview to show up. To fix it I changed the settings below to speed things up. It's still a bit slow but work muuuuch better now.
- MENU → 2 → [USB Connection] → [Mass storage]
- MENU → 2 → [USB LUN Setting] → [Single]
